What inspired you to establish Next Stop Ibiza, and how has your personal journey influenced the services you offer?
I was at a bit of a crossroads when I started Next Stop Ibiza. I´d been an entrepreneur by that point for about six or seven years. I´d already become quite well known on the island by that point, both professionally (for my fixing, translation, and legal work) and personally.
I´d always loved property, still do. I´m a bit of a property geek. I remember sitting down with a good friend of mine and shrewd business man, it was him suggested a relocation company, it fitted well with my skill set, my languages, and my love for property.
What happened in the next year or so was actually quite remarkable, and a lot of fun, something that I´ll be forever proud of and grateful for, we have helped over 4,000 people in total to become legal in Spain, rent or buy a house, set up business, and generally just help with fixing the peculiarities of life in Spain.
During covid when we officially started we really had the best people in our team, many of which worked in high end roles in large hospitality companies , but were on involuntary hiatus, so came onboard with me, and if I´m honest, I´d have been totally lost without them, and the general Ibiza community, that´s one of my favorite things about the island, its sense of community and people sticking together and being supportive of each other.
Over the past few years Next Stop Ibiza has certainly grown with me, it is now a well honed machine with any bumps in the road having been ironed out along the way, and a solid team of professionals in place. Our focus now is primarily focused on property and visas, we no longer offer NIE/ TIE services unless accompanied by a visa or property purchase.

What common misconceptions do people have about moving to Ibiza, and how does your company help setting realistic expectations?
Life on Ibiza isn´t always easy, and it´s never cheap. It´s perhaps the most frustrating and simultaneously fantastic place I´ve even been to. One minute you´re pulling your hair out trying to sort the never ending mind boggling life admin with endless red tape and the next you´re bobbing around the med drinking Miraval and dancing at sunset like nothing ever happened. It´s an island of extremes and often very frustrating, it´s very yin and yang.
When a customer contacts us we generally have a clarity call, we find this helps manage client expectations. We talk real, what they can expect and the realities of island life. We also build quite a sturdy relationship with our clients which means our clients usually return, and it´s not uncommon for them to call up panicked two years later about something they need help with and we are always happy to help.
I generally believe if you can live in Ibiza and have the ability to travel now and again it´s the best place in the world to live.

What advice would you give someone considering a move to Ibiza to ensure a smooth and successful relocation?
Employ a reputable expert to help you along the way. We often get people trying to save a buck doing their visas themselves and them fluffing it up, using someone who they aren´t happy with/or don´t get the timings right, and they end up paying twice, or having a property already paid for and not being able to make it here in time. There really is nothing worse than wasting thousands unnecessarily. It´s also useful to have someone local to call on further down the line who knows your story when things crop up and you need help, we offer great aftercare service.

What inspired you to become a distributor for Happy Glass, and what drew you to their products?
Happy Glass was introduced to me by a good friend who knows the people behind the venture. I undoubtable love the buzz surrounding a new business venture, and those guys have had such success with the product, bringing it to Ibiza seemed like a sensible next step.
The products are great quality, sophisticated, and sustainable something that I am keen to promote and be a part of here in the Balearics, with such big foot fall every year, I feel like it´s important to do what we can to help the environment too.
Happy Glass pride themselves on revolutionising drinkware. When holding a Happy Glass in one hand and a traditional glass in the other it is virtually impossible to see the difference with the naked eye. With new EU legislation regarding the use of plastic many venues/ businesses are having to change over to more sustainable products, and ours are made of high-tech co-polyester foodsafe BPA- free material. Trials show they are much more durable than their polocarbonate counterparts on tests carried out in dishwaher cycles. Happy Glass offers innovative production technology to the client for full freedom of design.
Reuse. Recycle. Relive. Repeat. That’s the Happy Glass way — and I’m all about it!
A happy girl with her Happy Glass, and an island that’s smiling right back."
