What inspired the creation of HappyGlass' synthetic glassware?
The idea for HappyGlass was born when it became clear that single-use plastic cups would be banned across Europe. At the same time, we noticed governments were increasingly restricting the use of traditional glass in public spaces and at events due to concerns about vandalism, injuries, and general disruption. We saw this as an opportunity to offer a safe, sustainable, and stylish alternative. From day one, HappyGlass has focused on creating premium, reusable drinkware made from high-quality BPA-free materials.
How does HappyGlass contribute to environmental sustainability in its production processes?
All HappyGlass products are made in our own production facility in the Netherlands, using only BPA-free Tritan™ copolyester. This innovative material is fully recyclable and completely safe for human health. It's crystal clear, extremely durable, and dishwasher-safe – our glasses last up to ten times longer than traditional fragile glassware. With the upcoming EU ban on BPA in plastic drinkware (effective from 2026), HappyGlass is already well ahead of the curve, offering a long-term sustainable solution today.

What has been the market response to HappyGlass products since their launch?
The response has been overwhelmingly positive. Many renowned beverage brands – including Schweppes, Heineken, and Moët & Chandon – use our glasses in hospitality settings and at major events. They appreciate the premium look, safety, and custom branding options our products offer.
In addition, retailers have also embraced HappyGlass. Our unbreakable glasses are now sold in specially developed retail packaging, perfect for home use, boating trips, or camping holidays. With this, we're reaching both professional and consumer markets – providing stylish, sustainable drinkware wherever it's needed.
Can you share any upcoming product lines or innovations in development?
This summer, we're launching a new range of coloured glasses – a more refined, stylish collection aimed at home use. The special colouring technique gives the glasses a luxurious, elegant appearance while maintaining the same strength and clarity. Whether it's for garden parties, poolside drinks, or entertaining guests, this new line blends function and aesthetics perfectly.

How does HappyGlass plan to expand its reach in the global market?
We are actively working with a growing network of distribution partners to expand into key European markets. Our focus is on the premium reusable segment – a category where supply is still limited but demand is rising fast. With our strong in-house production, innovation capacity, and clear sustainability promise, we offer something truly unique. The Balearic Islands, for instance, are high on our list, as demand for high-end, reusable BPA-free drinkware is expected to surge there in the coming years.
What are you looking most forward to in the coming year with HappyGlass?
We're most excited about bringing the benefits of reusable, safe, and stylish drinkware to a wider audience. With consumer awareness growing and regulations evolving, HappyGlass is in a strong position to lead the way – not just in hospitality, but also at home. We look forward to continued growth, more partnerships with inspiring brands, and helping reduce single-use waste across Europe in a meaningful and beautiful way.
