A WELL-COME RETREAT

Updated: Jul 4, 2023

In its own words, ‘naturally’, ‘elegantly’ and ‘serenity’, Amante is a nirvana for the senses. Offering an alternative to the island’s hedonistic nightlife scene, the venue has proved itself unrivalled. From a world-class restaurant to its palm-fringed setting on S’ol den Serra’s golden cliff outcrop, Amante is nothing short of breathtaking.

Accessible by a sandy track via the resort town of Cala Llonga, Amante was created with discretion and sophistication at its heart. It’s little wonder it’s a favourite of those seeking an under-the-radar escape from the intensity of the island, especially come summer. It’s also a beach club with a difference and that caters for everyone. Whether it be a gourmet celebration in the evening or a spot of revitalising yoga in the morning, you’ll very quickly find us here at any point throughout the day.

And with family forefront for many of us, we remain enchanted by Amante’s wellness schedule. Open from 8.45am, visitors can book themselves in for a round of daily morning beach yoga, surrounded by palms and on the bay of S’ol den Serra. With classes in both Spanish and English, the experienced yoga teachers welcome those of all ages, experience and levels. With check in and dedicated time for relaxation from 8.45am, the 75-minute class starts at 9am to truly absorb the delicious surrounding sights. Talk about a sun salutation.

The experience is further complemented by a buffet breakfast of fresh fruit, pastries, cereals, eggs, freshly squeezed juices and a selection of barista-style coffee, which yogis can enjoy in their own time and as they soak up those views even more. For anyone in Ibiza just for the weekend or a newcomer starting a new life on the island and seeking things to do, yoga at Amante firmly remains in our top ten.

And for something different come evening? Whether you decide to stay at Amante all day or make an arrival once the sun goes down, the options are endless. Post dining off their Mediterranean menu by sunset, we love nothing more than sticking around for a few hours to settle in for Amante’s Moonlit Movie Nights, especially when it looks that good.

Just when you thought the bay couldn’t get more spectacular, as the sun sets and the fairy lights glow, Amante is transformed into a beautiful and atmospheric open-air cinema. Hosting a fabulous schedule of golden classics and new releases, the starry sky, flood-lit rocks and sounds of the nearby lapping waves provide the perfect backdrop for some of cinema’s greats.

Guests are greeted upon arrival with a glass of Codorniu cava and unlimited popcorn before being ushered to their seats, or should we say, bean bag. What’s better, blankets are provided in the event of a cool breeze. With their Moonlit Movie Nights starting again this September, book in advance to catch films including Lost In Translation, Liquorice Pizza and Elvis in unrivalled style. Though most films are perhaps not suited to younger kiddies, this is a great activity for families with older children and teens seeking an activity that bridges the gap between the culture and nightlife.

We’ll see you on the rocks!
